Virtual Association for Administrative Professionals

If you are an administrative assistant or executive assistant who enjoys continuous learning and professional development related to your administrative professional job, role and career, you're in the right place.

YOU GET a subscription to The Effective Admin newsletter

You get every issue that's published during your 12-month membership. This newsletter is published six times per year. It's an eight-page electronic newsletter (which made its debut in January 2008 and soon afterward won an award for publication excellence). Those who are not VAAP members pay for this newsletter. But you don't. It's included at no additional cost in your VAAP membership.

The Effective Admin newsletter is packed with practical advice and tips related to your administrative support professional job duties and your career. Unlike The Effective Admin Tips Series where each tip sheet focuses on one topic related to workplace advice or on-the-job skills, each issue of the newsletter covers a diverse range of topics related to on-the job skills and career management advice. So it's practical reading material for when you want to read a little bit about a lot of different things related to your administrative job and career. Each issue is comprised of short informative or tip filled articles. The newsletter is in PDF file format (read with free Adobe Reader software) and/or print it on your computer and save it forever.

Here's what a few of your administrative professional colleagues think about the newsletter:

Executive administrative assistant Michele Ritchie says:

"I finally found time this morning to wrap up some training I've been doing and to read the latest edition of The Effective Admin Newsletter. This is the first newsletter I have received and I was VERY impressed with both the content and the layout. What was more impressing was how after reading this I could immediately put several items to use. Thank you so much for creating and publishing such a great newsletter!"

Danielle J. Turner, an executive assistant in Suwannee, Georgia, states:

"I really enjoy this newsletter! The articles lead me to things I wasn't aware of and remind me of standards that can be forgotten with time."

Debbie Lynott, an executive assistant to a president and CEO in Jacksonville, Florida, said:

"I am always looking for ways to improve my skills and to learn faster, easier ways to handle different job functions. I also value ideas from my peers on how they handle their jobs. I was very excited when I found your product. It is a very interesting read, and I have found several helpful suggestions."

Teresa Hodges, an executive assistant in Columbus, Ohio, writes:

"I enjoy reading newsletters related to my profession and am always looking forward to learning new things. I like the newsletter. The format is easy to read and the articles are interesting. I like the 'Grammar Help' section!"

What will you have to say after you read your first issue? You'll get the current issue right away, along with immediate access to all of the downloadable products for VAAP members.
